The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly posed some challenges for anyone involved with weddings, as any wedding photographer for the Liverpool area will testify.
Here’s an update on what the man behind the lens at Matthew Rycraft Photography is up to.
As one of the North West’s only Liverpool wedding photographers with his own studio, Matt has weathered the storm well. He currently booked to photograph at 25 weddings over the coming year, and is looking forward to meeting more prospective clients now that venues are opening up again once more.
During the pandemic, he has spent some time capturing smaller weddings. While this has had its challenges, finding creative ways to capture artistic, intimate images while maintaining safe social distancing has been an interesting experience.
The extra time has also allowed Matt some time for experimentation, learning about recent innovations in photography and putting ideas into practice. Although he has specialised in wedding photography for 15 years, there is always something to learn or a new technique to try.
He also launched Rycraft Studios, concentrating on family, newborn, maternity and children photography, an area that he has wanted to develop for some time. Covid has given him the opportunity to explore this new passion, giving couples an opportunity to have a lifetime photographer as their family grows.
