What essential photos you should ask for from your wedding photographer?
Your wedding photographs will be the longest-lasting reminder of your big day, so it’s crucial to get the shots right - and we’re not just talking composition. What are the essential images you should request? Here are some recommendations from Matthew Rycraft Photography.
Before the ceremony
There are quite a few shots your Liverpool wedding photographer can get in the bag before you even tie the knot. An image of the dress and any important accessories is one, and getting ready is another. A picture of the brides and bridesmaids holding their bouquets – fresh from the florist – is a third must-have. Don’t forget to capture the groom getting ready too, as well as the wedding transport.
During the wedding
A shot of the bride with her father before or as they proceed down the aisle is a must, as is a picture of the first kiss. Make sure images of the bride and groom with their mothers, siblings, bridesmaids and best man are taken. It’s a good idea to make a list of those you’d like to be photographed with.
The wedding reception
Get your photographer to pop to the reception room before anyone enters it, so they can capture everything set up in perfect, pristine condition – including the wedding cake! A picture of the couple cutting the cake is essential too, as is a lasting image of that special first dance together.
Ask a professional
This list is by no means exhaustive. Talk to your professional wedding photographer – the chances are they will have some great creative ideas you hadn’t even thought of.
