Nobody dreams of having to reschedule their special day, but if it happens to you, it’s best to start rearranging immediately. Remember, there will be plenty of people in the same boat as you at the moment, so you may find that your suppliers are getting booked up well in advance. Of course, there’s a lot to reorganise, so it’s a good idea to start prioritising. If you need to reschedule a wedding as a result of COVID-19, your top priorities should be as follows:
The venue
Your number one priority is to contact the venue and ask about rescheduling. One professional wedding planner, Penelope Cullen, said in a recent Evening Standard article that suppliers are “being really flexible and understanding.” Ask the venue if there are any dates available later this year, or even next, and if any deposit paid can be put towards the new date.
The photographer
If you’ve booked a professional wedding photographer in Liverpool or elsewhere, make them your next port of call. In the circumstances, all wedding suppliers should be understanding and supportive, so get in touch and see if they can offer flexibility. Most will be happy to do so, but don’t delay, as they may book up well in advance.
The dress
As clothing stores are also now closed, the wedding dress supplier or dressmaker should agree to move the fittings to whenever they are required. They should also be able to hold the wedding dress for as long as necessary.
Flowers
Now isn’t a great time for florists either, but again it’s wise to get in touch with them straightaway. Bear in mind that if you were planning a summer wedding that’s now become a winter wedding, for example, you might want to rethink your floral choices.
Venue dressing
Your fifth top priority is the decor for the venue. Again, keep a possible change of style in mind if your wedding will now be shifting seasons, and get in touch as soon as you can.

Communication is key. Get in touch with suppliers, and if they really cannot help with the new date (perhaps because of being committed to prior bookings), start searching for good alternatives.
