Pros
- By being able to work around your venue and vendor availability, keeping everything you’ve planned in place could be easier.
- It can happen as soon as you want it to, government lockdown permitting.
- You get to say ‘I do’ sooner rather than later and start your happily ever afters.
- If you’re still on the lookout for vendors, etc. you might be surprised to find they have more availability for the second half of the year with all the rescheduling that’s been happening.
- Say there was a vendor you originally wanted to provide for your wedding but they weren’t available. By changing your date you might get a second chance to book them.
- If you move your wedding to a new season, you have a second chance to play around with your colour scheme, decorations, theming, etc.
Cons
- If you choose to have your wedding in an entirely different season, your flowers and decor may have to change too.
- Some of your guests might not be available for the new date you choose, and the elderly or those with health issues might not be able to come.
- If for any reason you accrue additional costs by changing your date, your budget may need to increase.
- Should any of the main wedding elements change it could mean having to rethink other things too, such as your colour scheme and bridesmaid dresses.
- There’s still a lot of uncertainty for the second half of this year at the moment, and we don’t know what’s going to happen.
- With wedding photography being an important component, changing the season could impact the quality and amount of daylight for your photos.
