Every bride wants their wedding day to be perfect, as well as special in every way and accompanied by a photographic collection to capture the essence of the day.
However, it is easy to get caught up and spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect pose in order to create something a bit different to your normal ‘can the bride’s family stand together’ shot. As such, here are some cool ideas for unique shots to encapsulate different points during the day, which a Lancashire wedding photographer should have no problem incorporating into your special occasion:
A twist on the classics
You could have a traditional shot of the bride and her bridesmaids taken, but reverse it. Most photos are from the front, so this picture will highlight the back of the dresses, which is what all your guests will see during the wedding ceremony.
Introduce some movement to do away with more formal snaps. Photos could capture movements, such as everyone jumping for joy. Meanwhile, if hats are worn, you could also have a picture taken of these being tossed in the air.
Setting a scene
A popular wedding choice at the moment is to have a photography area situated at the reception. Generally filled with cool and funny props, they can generate some really unique picture opportunities as the guests arrive.
Pictures can also tell a story using word cards, which are held by those in the snap, such as “Just Married” and “Here comes the bride”.
If you have a bunch of strong ushers, go for the pyramid effect. Let the groom act like he really is the king of the castle. Arrange the ushers in a pyramid format with the groom balancing on top. For the braver bride, a shot of her being lifted into the air by the groom and his ushers is also a must.
Taking advantage of the unforseen
Don’t worry about the weather, as a rainy day can be an opportunity to fill shots with beautiful, bright umbrellas, which can be strategically placed by the photographer to complement the picture.
Depending on the time of the wedding and following reception, if there is a break for afternoon tea you could get a great picture spanning the generations, with friends, mums and grans classically sipping drinks from vintage cups and saucers.
Above is just selection of ideas that can help you to create a magical reminder of your special day.
