With you at the centre of the circular nave and high alter, whilst your say your vows to each other and the light shining through the glass windows, you will feel like the ‘bell of the ball’.
This Grade II listed building is the largest Catholic Cathedral in England and with it’s sister Cathedral on Hope Street it is part of Liverpool’s beautiful skyline. Officially known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, this circular modern design and structure, it is also known to locals as “Catholic Cathedral” or nicknamed “Paddy’s Wigwam” or “The Mersey Funnel”.
Underneath the Cathedral is the Crypt. This is a beautiful location and attraction to many functions and dinners, including Liverpool’s Beer Festivals. With its amazing brick arches and amazing brickwork, now used for functions and wedding, it was intended as the Lower Sacristy. Accommodating up to 300 guests this is one of the largest wedding and events locations in Liverpool.
