The Great British Weather
Even if the guests are ex-pats, it’s surprising how quickly people can forget the British climate. Thus, it’s not a bad idea to add a line about the sort of weather they can expect to experience in your area, and according to season – not least because they could look out of place in the shots captured by your Liverpool wedding photographer if seriously over- or underdressed!
Brexit
The UK has now left the EU, so where does that leave guests who are coming from the Europe? As before, they will be spending here in pound sterling rather than Euros. EU citizens still do not need a visa for short visits – a passport valid for the duration of their stay will suffice.
One key change is that from October 1, 2021, an EU, EEA or Swiss national ID card will normally no longer be acceptable. There are certain exceptions to this, such as for those with settled status or a family permit under the EU Settlement Scheme.
COVID-19
The rules regarding overseas visitors and Covid-19 are constantly changing, so do advise your guests to check the current situation before booking their travel. They may, for example, need to show proof of a negative test result. If their trip will involve visiting Wales, the rules may vary slightly from those for England – as do those for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
