August wedding in Southport wedding venue Meols Hall
Georgina and Paul had an amazing day at their wedding at Southport wedding venue Meols Hall, August was the day sun cloud and rain.
Meols Hall is a stunning venue in Southport, still privately owned by the Hesketh family, it has a homely feel where weddings take place in the Tithe Barn.
The surroundings that circle the Manor House, are filled with trees and greenery and a local bridge across a little stream. The house is still one of the homes of the Hesketh family.
An idyllic setting
This was the Southport wedding venue Georgina and Paul wanted to have the perfect wedding, an idyllic setting which allows you to have your ceremony and wedding breakfast all in one location.
The courtyard separates the Tithe barn and the old stables. A great mixing ground for wedding guests. We have a great article on how to keep your wedding guests entertained.
Some time with the lads
Groom wedding photography coverage is very popular nowadays. Many years ago it wasn’t something that would normally be included in the wedding day photographs. But as more and more grooms want to have their moment on their wedding day. Green coverage where I attend the morning with the lads is a great way to add something special to the wedding album.
And more often than not, it’s something the bride encourages so she can see how much is on the lads had in the morning. So on this day Paul I’ve hired a little cottage in Southport for him and the boys to get ready. And this is where my day started.
Wedding morning
I then headed to Georgina and Paul’s house where the bride got ready with her bridesmaids. It was great to see a familiar face as Paul’s sister, a bridesmaid was there in the morning whose family I have photographed over the years.
Off the Meols hall
I left within good time which allowed me to get a few shots of Paul standing nervously at the end of the aisle.
Georgina the bride arriving in style with a wedding car from Churchtown wedding cars. After the inevitable chat with the registrars Georgina the bride walked across the cobbles to get ready to meet her future husband.
The wedding ceremony in the Tithe Barne
The Tithe barn at Meols Hall was the perfect location for their ceremony, dressed beautifully and very modern they let the brickwork speak for themselves by just giving it a little added sparkle.
Their joined the celebrations and was walked down the aisle by the grooms nephew.
A drive around Meols Hall Grounds
After the ceremony the couple are invited to have a confetti photograph, followed by a drive around the grounds and the wedding car by Churchtown wedding cars.
A Southport-based wedding vehicle company. A typical location for the wedding card to stop is a little historic wooden bridge at the back of the stately home. As a Southport wedding photographer at Meols Hall this is one Southport wedding venue I know very well.
Wedding singing waiter
A fabulous surprise for the wedding guests was the singing waiter which performed and got the guests on the chairs with napkins. It really is an entertaining piece as at the start of his act he pretends to fall and drops knives and fork, then goes straight into operatic singing.
The catering was supplied by Carringtons caterers, southport-based wedding catering company, which delivered a table of pies for guests to share. One of the best features about this Southport wedding venue is the varied catering options for wedding guests.
One wedding guest her table is invited to be the serving chef, who has to wear a funny apron.
The evening had a drop of rain & a surprise
The days wether had been lovely, so surprisingly the evening finished with a drop of rain. Followed by an even bigger surprise where the bride Georgina changed outfits into a black wedding dress.
A truly magical ending and as per usual are used my Southport wedding photography skills to create one of my signature rain wedding photographs.
