For Abby and Robert, there were no clouds in the skies above Lancashire on their wedding day last September.
Georgian style country house wedding
In fact for the loved up pair, their friends and family, it may as well have been 35° and cracking the flags of Eaves Hall, the Georgian style country house in Cleavley’s, Lancashire.

The wedding day
Matthew recalls in detail the incredible day working closely with the pair and their wedding entourage. From the intimate shots of the Grooms & Groomsmen preparations early in the day to the iconic tear filled eyes of a proud father of the bride upon seeing his daughter in a gorgeous Cheshire Brides of Frodsham Wedding Dress.
The morning with the groom
A day at the stunning Eaves Hall Wedding Venue started with Groom Robert and his troupe of groomsmen preparing for the ceremony.
Matthew shot an intimate selection of behind the scenes imagery, eventually producing a suave black and white montage of images for the group to fondly look back on.
“He took to being a model very well!” Matthew Rycraft recalls of the Groom.
“It set the tone off just right for an amazing day and night shoot at Eaves Hall – The perfect place for Wedding Photography in Lancashire I may add!”
“Bride Abby was the star of the show of course and her dad led the way in bringing the tears as he cast eyes upon her for her wedding dress reveal. As well as a stunning dress, Abby and her bridesmaids were spoilt with beautiful array of floral bouquets from ‘The Flower Girls, Whalley.’
Emotional wedding day touches
Matthew continued: “A lot of weddings are very emotionally charged and it’s my job as the best North West Wedding Photographer to capture all the emotions of such a special day.
“The groom’s mum had sadly passed away prior to the wedding but in a heart wrenchingly beautiful gesture. The wedding party ensured a photo of Robert’s mum and place setting took pride of place next to his father on the top table. A beautiful gesture and one the fantastic team at Eaves Hall, Lancashire, helped to deliver.
They booked wedding photography & video
Matthew and his talented team shot an album of incredible still image photography of the preparations, ceremony and evening celebrations. As well as a bespoke wedding videography & photography package capturing the most intimate and special moments from the Johnson wedding.
The award winning Matthew Rycraft team worked tirelessly yet flawlessly throughout the day. Photographing well into the evening for a series of extra special shots of the newlyweds dancing together on the stunning lawn and balcony of the Eaves Hall Wedding Venue grounds.
“The love in their eyes is something very hard to capture,” Matthew said, “but they were overjoyed when they saw the final result of their intimate balcony shoot.”
The evening entertainment
“Onto the reception and I am the first to admit i love to get into the spirit of the party. A brilliant Lancashire wedding photographer needs to connect on a natural level with their subjects. I am not ashamed to say I had a little subtle boogie to the Johnson’s wedding playlist while capturing those fun filled laughter abound shots of family and friends letting loose on the dance floor.
