The key considerations for a Christmas wedding
A Christmas wedding can be the epitome of romance, especially for those who adore that time of year. Planning a winter wedding is not without its potential issues, however. Before you go ahead and book an exclusive venue and the best wedding photographer in Liverpool, here are some factors to consider.
Plan ahead
With family get-togethers, workplace parties and all the shopping and cooking, Christmas is a very busy time of year. This means you’ll need to get your venue and other suppliers booked early – and don’t forget to send out ‘save the date’ cards to your guests.
Christmas colour
If you’re getting hitched in winter, your venue is likely to have Christmas decorations up everywhere. They say if you can’t beat them you should join them, so why not embrace the festive season by using red, green and gold tones, alongside holly, ivy and – of course – mistletoe?
Festive catering
If you love a Christmas feast then you could opt for a traditional Christmas dinner to serve as the wedding breakfast. Alternatively, plan a Boxing Day style buffet. Mulled wine always goes down well at any winter wedding too.
Cosy clothing
Don’t dress for summer if your wedding is in December. Long sleeved dresses, faux fur cover-ups and velvet jackets are all much cosier options for the midwinter bride and groom.
Light it up
Find out what time it will get dark on your wedding day – especially if you want your photographs to be flooded with natural outdoor light. Matthew Rycraft Photography can give you more advice on this when planning your pictures.
