To be ranked for anything in your own industry is amazing, but to be placed and considered within the 100 best wedding photographers in the UK is outstanding. Well this is what happened last week!
It's been 4 yours since the SLR lounge has researched the best UK wedding photographers, compiled and presented their list. Last week they created their 2020 best UK wedding photographer list.
Selecting the very best wedding photographers
Every style is researched and considered for the list. SLR Lounge are very particular and play close attention to the accreditations each photographer have been awarded. Their selection process is in very detailed. Looking for the very best in awards, brand ambassadors, speakers, educators, style, professionalism and ability.
What an honour
Over the years I have won numerous awards, been featured inside and on the front covers of many magazines. Won print awards been featured in other top UK listings. To be included in such a fine list of wedding photographers is testament to all my hard work and professionalism.
Thousands of wedding photographers are considered for the very sought after list. And after 4 years since the last selection. There would have been thousands to choose from. There is a systematic method to selecting and lots of objectivity whilst sifting through portfolios.
Section criteria
There is a 3 point selection criteria for the coveted list. As we said said earlier, Speakers, Award winners and brand ambassadors. Of which I am for Phottix and PermaJet. They make sure each wedding photographer is working and active. And in their words: “Artists not just educators”. And “Not just networkers”. Many are well known and connected in the industry but lacking the artistic skills needed to be considered.
Uniqueness and Creativity
Part of their 3rd step is uniqueness and creativity. They were obviously looking for artists that cross a barrier, making them unique enough to be entered into the list. Artistry, vision, timing, consistency and emotional capture being their last 5 points of selection. I suppose these don’t need much introduction but it’s safe to say they were looking for someone who ticks all 5 items with one unique style. If in one/most of their wedding photographs. I suppose that’s what makes us Award winning wedding photographers.
