What an amazing bridal Horse shoot I had a few weeks back. Ashleigh had a dream to have a professional bridal photoshoot taken with Riley. Her Irish race horse. Ashleigh who's wedding I photographed at Peckforton Castle had mentioned a few times she would love a shoot with her horse. We just need to set a date.

Ash was as ecstatic when I mentioned we should get a date booked in! This was something I had always wanted to do myself and had visions of photographing something with the morning sun on a beach.

The location

I am so lucky to have the golden sands of Ainsdale beach right on my doorstep. With Ash just living down the road in Liverpool. It was set to be the perfect location for this equestrian photoshoot. As soon as I started planning the shoot, I knew there was only one place to go… Ainsdale Beach. The Golden Sands have proved once again to be the prefect backdrop for an awe-inspiring photoshoot.

Wedding collaborations

I wanted to collaborate with some of my favourite local wedding suppliers. I was lucky enough to have Crosby Bridal Boutique supply the wedding dress and Flowers By Laurie, in Formby make Rileys beautiful garland.

The idea progressed with Ashleigh to be in her wedding dress and take some stunning shots of her with Riley on Ainsdale Beach. The weather was glorious and Riley was very photogenic. Ash has had Riley since he was 3 and came from Ireland. In fact he’s a Grey Irish Sport Horse. He’s 12 now and just loves to be free. The beach was the perfect setting for Riley too!

A unique photoshoot

As soon I posted the images online, they quickly started going viral for their stunning composition and unique style. I’m delighted with the end result and it was a joy to capture this magnificent horse and bride, in such a stunning location.

Ash ordered quite a few prints for her home. In a black frame with a slight white border they look amazing in her living room and stairs. This was a great way for her to remember this once in a lifetime shoot.
