One star of the hit show Mad Men, Christina Hendricks, has recently revealed that she briefly turned her hand to a spot of wedding hairdressing when her friends came calling prior to their big day.
The actress, who stars as Joan in the drama set in a ‘60s advertising agency, revealed that two of her friends – who were obviously keen on Hendricks’ on- and off-screen look – asked her to do their hair for their upcoming nuptials.
Christina said of the request:
“I’m not sure why they asked me, but I take it as a compliment. I’m known for doing messy- up do really quickly on myself – my mom’s always really impressed. I like putting my hair up, and wearing lots of head wraps and scarves for fun.”
Couples planning their wedding should, of course, be sure they hire a top wedding photographer from North West England, so that the day goes beautifully – but there certainly is no need to rely on a celebrity wedding hairdresser like Christina.
The success of the show Mad Men has contributed to something of a renaissance of the fashion from that era, so brides and grooms may wish to consider the sultry look that Christina’s character Joan has. Indeed, grooms may have an eye on the style of Don Draper, who is the show’s debonair male lead character.
Whatever is planned for the big day though, couples should learn from Christina’s friends and get as much help from their stylish chums as they can.
