Even though wedding ceremonies are typically formal and solemn, you can spice things up a little.
A traditional method of entering the aisle is marching down or entering from the side.
Sometimes, couples may want to switch things up by selecting an entrance more representative of their personalities.
Even arriving at your wedding ceremony can be far more interesting for those not wanting that traditional Liverpool wedding.
If you are that out couple going, you won’t have to worry about finding the best entrance for your wedding party with this list of fun ideas and tips!
First, always Coordinate with your videographer and photographer
The wedding party entrance must be coordinated with your video and photo team. Your wedding photographer may want lighting set up for the first dance and the wedding videographer will want to have their video ready to record the sequence in full. So make sure you let them know the plan.
Everyone must hit an exact spot before doing whatever they are doing, even striking a pose or giving each other a high-five. So ensure the best results from your photos give the suppliers the heads up.
Your wedding photographer should liaise with wedding party just before they are introduced. By doing this, they will know what to do and when exactly.
You will get amazing photos if your Liverpool wedding photographer helps coordinates any plans with the bridal party before the announcements. They may even have some ideas, so always chat about plans like these to either get some advice to even share some ideas. Most reputable wedding vendors have seen it all. And will be more than happy to help guide you.
1. Dance together as a couple and a group!
Top of the list. It’s a great idea to have each bridal party couple do a couple’s dance on their way in (salsa, tango, etc.).
While this might require a little more work (and perhaps some dance lessons), the results are well worth the effort. Different dance styles can be assigned to each couple, or they can dance the same choreographed routine.
Even though excellence is always outstanding, the steps do not necessarily need to be mastered. Having fun is what’s most important.
The wedding party can perform dance moves during the reception. There are many things on this list: the running man, the cabbage patch, the sprinkler, the hammer dance, the house party kick, the Roger Rabbit, the heel-toe, Thriller, and more.
Check out some amazing videos of epic dance moves if you want more ideas (and to have a good laugh as well). There will be a smile on your face when you see it.
2. Outfit swapping
Would you like to walk in your spouse’s shoes for a minute? Imagine if you wore your other half’s outfits. The groom wears your wedding dress and the bride wears a suit!
The unique entrance idea is not for everyone; however, if you and your spouse are fun-loving people, and your guests are all ‘cool,’ you should go for it. They certainly will remember this!
3. Put on large funny-faced masks – Maybe the grooms head from the hen!
Having your bridal party wear funny, oversized masks as they dance around the room is a good idea. You are sure to crack off your guests with these masks. The best part is that they don’t just happen once. Props can be used at bridal showers, house parties, birthday celebrations, and other get-togethers where you want to have fun.
Maybe you work at a zoo, so they’ll wear animal masks. Maybe you’re a Star Wars fan? The list is endless really, think about what hobbies or career you have, so it all matches and have much more meaning.
4. Show up with a stylish ride
Arrive by horse and carriage, or by helicopter (think hay bales and gourds for a Fall wedding), or vintage fire truck if you are within your budget. Again think about those things close to your heart that your guests can relate to, this will make far more impact and memorable.
5. Let the kids be the leaders
The bridesmaids and the bride always wow guests when they enter together. And being a beautiful sight, it also serves as a testament to the love and support given to the bride on her special day.
What about the little ones, though? Allowing them to have a fun entrance will allow them to participate in the ceremony as much as anyone else.
Having your kids walk you down the aisle at your wedding is a beautiful and special idea.
You and your guests will enjoy this touching moment and showcase how far you as a couple have come. Additionally, it will show how much you value your guests and children. On the most part, couples getting married is all about their children as much as is it the bride and groom.
They can make a grand entrance on their mother’s big day.
A wedding reception is a perfect time to show off these young ones!
6. Piggyback Ride
It’s pretty cute, isn’t it? Piggyback riding with your spouse to your reception party maybe a little childish but I’m sure with the right crowd they’re love it.
There’s nothing complicated about it, and it’s fun to do. Make sure you just don’t fall.
It’s simple and most can do it, doesn’t require much practice either.
7. Puppies for bouquets
If you’re a dog lover this could be the perfect alternative. Imagine having your bridesmaids walk dogs down the aisle instead of holding wedding bouquets Ensure your bridesmaids are comfortable with it in advance.
On the face of it it sounds like a very cute idea, but our furry friends are not for everyone. However if they hold a very special place in your heart it is a great alternative to get everyone talking.
You could of course have your four legged friend bring your wedding rings down the aisle. If you have a dog you know the importance of them in your family, so why not include them.
8. Enter as superheroes
There’s never a wrong time to be a superhero, especially on your wedding day, when you’re basically the main character. You may be able to find some inspiration for costume inspiration from DC or Marvel as you make your debut entrance dress as your favorite superhero.
This most certainly isn’t for the masses, but it’s not uncommon for a wedding to be themed. Over the years we have seen many Star Wars themed inspired weddings.
So even though it’s not unusual it’s not common. But no doubt if this was your choice, your guests will be fully supportive. And we would be surprised if they weren’t dressed up to
9. Show off your talents
A bridal party talent show is a great way to have fun. As your bridal party makes its way onto the dance floor, you might want them to perform acrobatics, sing to the crowd, or even break dance to get the crowd going.
Think about those special talents that maybe no one knows about. Give them the biggest surprise by putting them to some good use. This way it’s super personal too.
10. Fly in
Take it to another level and fly in with a helicopter! The ultimate luxury and not really that expensive but what a wedding entrance that would be. p.s. Make sure your wedding venue will allow it and has the space.
